MMTA President Ellyses Kuan was excited to attend the 2018 MTNA Leadership Summit in Cincinnati, OH on September 7th-9th. The keynote speaker was Peter Jutras, Editor-in-Chief of the leading national piano pedagogy publication, Clavier Companion. During his presentation, “The future of Music Teaching,” Jutras spoke about the importance of understanding today’s market change in our profession, while embracing diversity and upholding strong musical standards. During her trip, Ellyses visited the MTNA headquarters and met with CEO Gary Ingle and MTNA President Scott McBride Smith. She also shared MMTA reports and exchanged program ideas with other state presidents at the Eastern Division Meeting.
