Up-cycling Used Instruments for Children in Need

Instrumental Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2018 by Grant and Ellie Bordner, teenage children of MMTA member Renee Bordner. The organization is dedicated to helping children in need obtain musical instruments and supplies to assist them in their musical journeys. Instrumental Angels collects donations of used instruments, sheet music, and accessories. They collaborate with local musical networks and music stores—including Mr. Music Guitars, Spencer Brook Strings, and the Berklee Instrument Repair Program—to clean and repair donated instruments before redistributing them to children in need. They have provided instruments to children from the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs, El Sistema New England, and the Josiah Quincy Orchestra Program.

Instrumental Angels has a growing inventory of instruments, accessories, and sheet music that need new homes. If you or someone you know is aware of a child with financial need or special needs looking for sheet music or a musical instrument, contact Grant and Ellie at info@instrumentalangels.org!
